George William Bell is a contemporary glass artist and maker whose practice spans over 20 years of exploration, innovation, and technical mastery. Working at the intersection of craft, design, and fine art, Bell’s work investigates the material possibilities of glass, creating autonomous forms that balance artistic intention with the natural qualities of the medium.
His practice is driven by a desire to push boundaries, challenging traditional perceptions of handmade objects while maintaining a deep respect for the history and craft of glassmaking. Bell’s work has been exhibited internationally in high-profile venues, including New Glass Now at the Corning Museum of Glass (New York), The European Award for Applied Arts (Mons, Belgium), and the touring exhibition Glass is Tomorrow (Stockholm, Milan, London).
Throughout his career, Bell has been recognized for his innovative approach with awards from Danske Kunsthändvarkere & Designere, Ung Svensk Form, and the Stanislav Libensky Award.
