Artist:

Tansej” – She Weaves Stories Through Threads

“Tansej”, meaning “she weaves” in Arabic, is a limited-edition masterpiece born from the collaboration between Emirati artist Noura Al Serkal and the Moroccan weaving studio Atelier Talasin. This exceptional piece celebrates the timeless traditions of Amazigh (Berber) weaving while embracing contemporary design sensibilities.

Handcrafted in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco, “Tansej” is made from Siroua wool, a rare and delicate fiber harvested by local shepherds and dyed using natural pigments derived from mountain plants. Each knot in the piece was meticulously woven by skilled female artisans, whose craftsmanship brings Noura’s artistic vision to life.

More than just a rug, “Tansej” is a celebration of sisterhood, community, and the interconnectedness of stories shared across generations. The intricate patterns and vibrant palette reflect a deep cultural narrative, woven together to create a work of art that bridges heritage and innovation.
